Prepare to Ride

The desert is both magnificent and – at times – unforgiving. In addition to your favorite riding gear, we recommend the following packing list for your factory demo visit.

  • ID/Credit Card (required)

  • Helmet

  • Knee & Elbow protection (recommended but not required)

  • Hydration, minimum 1 liter of water*

  • Essential "on the trail" tools and supplies (ex: tubes, multi-tool, shock pump, C02, tire lever, etc.)

  • Pedals (if you do not elect to use our selection of SPD’s, Crank Bros., or flats)

*Not all bikes are equipped with bottle cages.

Bikes may not be transported in or on personal vehicles of any kind. A downloadable GPS file containing turn-by-turn directions for a short 2.1 mile pedal from the factory to South Mountain is provided below, in addition to suggested trail routes.

FAQs

Demo reservations are scheduled for a maximum of 4 hours. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early for check-in and set-up.

All demos are at South Mountain Park. We have provided riding directions to the Pima Canyon Trailhead, where beginner through expert terrain can be reached. Bikes may not be transported on personal vehicles

If you're going to be late, please call (480) 467-2929. A $30.00 late fee will be assessed for late returns.

Demos may be reserved up to 45 days in advance.

Riders are responsible for carrying proper repair kit items and a spare tube. Flat repair kits are not provided as part of the Demo Equipment.

Damage to bikes can occur unintentionally and sometimes to no fault of the rider. We provide a Demo Warranty and Service Plan, which is included in the Factory Demo Fee, to guard against unintentional damage to the demonstration Equipment. As part of this plan, Pivot Cycles provides free labor for repairs, and your warranty covers the cost of damaged parts. The Demo Warranty and Service Plan does NOT cover negligent or intentional damage to or loss, including theft, of the bike.

The winter months in Phoenix are beautiful, with daytime highs during demo hours ranging between 50 and 80. The climate is always very dry. When things warm up, they really warm up. If you are visiting for a Factory Demo during the summer months, please be prepared for temperatures well above 100. We highly recommend bringing a minimum of 1 liter of water on a demo ride.

All riding ability levels are welcome to demo at the Pivot factory. We have provided a link to beginner friendly trails at nearby South Mountain. We do recommend that all riders be familiar with mechanical functioning of a demo bike, including gearing and brakes, and quick release clipless pedals if applicable.

Helmets, riding apparel, and other personal equipment such as knee and elbow pads are the sole responsibility of the rider. We do not provide helmets, apparel or other rental gear.
